Journey
TagRealities and Possibilities
“Life is often about facing reality without disregarding divine possibilities.” For all of us life is not always as you would like it to be. Life occasionally might well include problems, hard, or even hurtful circumstances. There are times when what you need is more than you have. Everyday life is not a movie, where if you “wish upon a star” all your dreams come true. Life is often about facing reality without disregarding divine possibilities.
Quest for Truth
The other night after dinner, Justin asked me this simple question: “Dad what is the difference between all religions, denominations, their teachings and etc.?” Last night Aliah also asked me another simple question: “Dad what do you think about all religion?” I tried to answer it as much as I could, but the reality is…there are many things that we don’t really know or cannot explain and pretending to know all the answers is a wisdom of a fool.
Life’s ABCs…
The original version was written by Mr. Harvey Mackay who is a columnist and author of the New York Times #1 bestseller “Swim With the Sharks without Being Eaten Alive.” I have journeyed a long way to be where I am today only to find out what is life’s ABCs, so here’s my version:
Astonished and Amazed…
Was walking around Brisbane with a friend one day and saw this shop called “Broken Hearted Cafe”. Astonished and amazed and thinking about James Taylor’s old song. I jokingly made a comment saying; maybe I should open one next door called ‘I Fix Broken Hearts Cafe’ specializing in comforting, repairing and restoring of people’s hearts that has been broken.
Once in Your Life…
“Life tells you nothing, it shows you everything.” – Richard Bach. Only once in your life (some may think differently), I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around.
Right & Wrong
“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so” – Shakespeare in Hamlet. What makes something right as opposed to something wrong? What makes one action the right or good thing to do while another action is the wrong or bad thing to do? Is there an over-all standard set of ethical guide lines that all human beings naturally carry? Or does it depend on the culture, society, and family that you are born into. Where do people’s ethics and morals come from? Why is it that so many people can and do, act outside of those ethics on such a common basis?
Focus on ‘GOOD’ – not on ‘BAD’…
Most people tend to judge a person on how bad they are – on the negative aspects of their character and not on the positive. We don’t focus on their “clean”, we focus on their “dirt”. A newspaper publisher which only prints good news does not stay in business long.
Allow them to walk their own path…
I’m sure there are people in your life whom you see acting in ways that upsets you. Watching our loved ones, family or a good friend traverse a path littered with stumbling blocks can be immensely painful. We instinctively want to guide them toward a safer track and share with them the knowledge and wisdom we have acquired through experience. Yet all human beings have the right to carve their own paths without being unduly influenced by outside interference.
